Counties Energy Trust holds the shares in Counties Energy on behalf of local electricity consumers in the Franklin and Northern Waikato region.
The Trust plays a vital role in overseeing operations, advocating for the community, and ensuring long-term benefits for its beneficiaries.
The Trust's previous website had become outdated, both visually and functionally. It lacked a clear sense of identity, was difficult to navigate, and didn't reflect the professionalism or transparency the Trust embodies. The logo also felt soft and dated, with gradients and an elongated format that translate well across modern media.
The team wanted a solution that modernised their brand without losing connection to its roots - and they needed it delivered efficiently, with minimal overhauling or resources-heavy processes.

Logo Design
We modernised their existing wordmark by moving away from gradients and introducing a flat, high-contrasting two-colour palette. The typography was reworked to create a more solid and legible feel, and we explored stacked formats to resolve the logo's previous length and softness - all while staying within the scope of a refresh rather than a full rebrand.
Website Design & Development
We designed and built a clean, structured, and responsive custom WordPress website with larger format content, a wide layout, and refined use of colour. A burger menu design created a modern navigation experience, while purposeful icons and infographics helped communicate key messages in a user-friendly way.
